[UK] PhD Studentships in Aerospace Technology – University of Bath

The Composites Research Unit within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Bath invites applications for five, 3-year, fully funded PhD studentships in the following project areas (with supervisors):

The studentships start in October 2006 and will be funded at the normal rate (full home student fees plus a tax-free stipend of £16,000), with the opportunity of undertaking additional paid undergraduate teaching. They form part of a collaborative programme of research with Airbus, Westland Helicopters, Rolls Royce and the Great Western Research Alliance. They are also complemented by a series of linked PhD projects to be undertaken at the University of Bristol.


Experience in some of the following areas is desirable: aerospace structures; composite materials; FEA and experimental testing of materials & structures; computing/ programming.
