[UK] International Undergraduate Scholarships, The School of Psychology, University of Hertfordshire

The School of Psychology will offer four competitive undergraduate scholarships and two postgraduate scholarships worth £s;2000 per applicant (to be deducted from tuition fees) for academic year 2006/7. These scholarships are in addition to the University of Hertfordshire`s International Student Scholarships for early payment of tuition fees. The objective is to support deserving international students who wish to complete an undergraduate degree in psychology at UH. Scholarships will be awarded on a merit and/or hardship basis.
Eligibility and conditions
Applicant must be self-financing and liable to pay tuition fees at the rate for overseas students
- Applicant must not be sponsored by an employer
- Applicant must not be sponsored by a government
Applicant must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission to a full-time BSc(Hons) Psychology programme at UH or a conditional/unconditional offer of admission to a full-time masters programme in psychology at UH which they have firmly accepted or which they intend to accept.
Applicant must meet UH academic and English language entry requirements.
Please note that accepting UH as an insurance offer does not satisfy the conditions relating to this scholarship.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to apply for admission to UH. If you do not apply for admission, you will not be considered for a scholarship. Please make sure to apply for admission to UH in good time.
Applicants must fulfil their financial obligations to the University of Hertfordshire.
Selection Criteria and application procedure
The recipients of the scholarship will be selected on the basis of academic merit and hardship. Documents from the applicants’ admissions application will be used in the selection of successful scholarship applicants. In addition, applicants should write to the School of Psychology stating that they wish to be considered for the scholarship and why they believe they should be selected for the scholarship. Application letters should be supported by a recommendation letter from the course tutor of applicant`s most recent programme of study. The application should be received by the School of Psychology no later than 31st July 2006. The selection panel will meet in early August and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in late August 2006.
Provisional award date: 18th September 2006
